This week was a big week for me. My husband is getting ready to start a new job on Monday. One where he will be working during the week with the weekends off. This meant Tuesday was my last chance to go to the change with him on a weekday when they are less busy.
You see a couple of years ago there was an accident and I was shot in the chest. The kind of thing that leaves you jumping at the very sound, suffering from pain with every movement, and struggling to regain the strength to do the smallest things. I have come so far and overcome all of this. But I had yet taken the big step of going to the range and shooting the gun that I had been shot with. Something I felt was important to me to move past the whole thing.
I did it! I freaking did it! I went and shot the gun that took so much from me over the past couple of years and I did pretty darn good. I showed my kids that with reliance and determination that nothing short of death can ruin your life and that you can bounce back.
